BiblioAssistant
Keeping up to date with scientific publications is an increasingly difficult task due to the large volume of articles published daily. To facilitate this task in my research areas (hydrology, climate, and meteorology), I have created BiblioAssistant.
BiblioAssistant is an automated tool that monitors various sources (via the OpenAlex API and RSS feeds) and filters articles according to the research interests of the Hydrology and Climate Change group at the Ebre Observatory.
The system uses a combination of local language models (via Ollama) for initial filtering and more powerful models (like Gemini) to generate structured summaries ("extended cards") that include the methodology, data, results, and funding of each relevant study.

The project code is fully open source and can be found on GitHub. The development was carried out with the assistance of AI tools, especially Gemini CLI.
I hope this tool is useful not only for our group but for any researcher interested in land-surface-atmosphere interactions or climatic extremes in the Mediterranean.
